On our third day, we headed up to the north shore and for a spot called Queens Bath. The pictures in our book looked amazing so we just had to check it out. We started our day early (still on Pacific time) and were lucky to be only the second car there. The path winding down to the spot itself was great. The vegetation on the north shore is super lush and gorgeous....such a stark contrast from what we saw the day prior!
After passing the beautiful waterfall (we later swam in) we were greeted with this ominous sign telling us how many drownings occur here. We decided to go for it anyway. As our trip wore on we got use to these signs; it is the governments way of not being liable for stupid tourists. But we prefer to label ourselves as adventurous verses stupid.
The "bath" was AMAZING!!! I'm so glad we found it and braved the "unexpected large wave" threatened to slosh into the bath. But don't worry we left once the waves turned to medium-sized ones.
After spending time at Queens Bath we headed to Tunnel Beach to snorkel. The beach was so beautiful and tried not to drink the water! For some reason we couldn't really get the snorkel gear to work, but still had a good time soaking up the sun and scenery.
Charlotte wanted to end the day finding and eating a coconut. It didn't work out, so we compromised by getting another shave ice (that stuff is crack)!
