We adventured out with our little one today. (Okay, our first adventure that didn't involve the hospital!) It was very exciting. We went to Target! We needed a few things for Molly and me now that we are all a little more settled with each other.
Most of our list was related to making breastfeeding easier at night. We've been blessed with a good little eater and sleeper. We know, we know this could all change but we are enjoying it while it last. At her one week appointment Molly had gained her birth weight and more. I feel like the 24 hour snack bar but at least it is working!
After the Target run we stopped at a couple of baby stores. We are on the hunt for a mose's basket or something similar to put Molly when she is hanging out with us in the front room. This morning she managed to turn onto her side. This makes me very nervous about leaving her alone on the couch. Also, makes me nervous about the fact that she is already trying to move. I am not ready for movement and have my finger crossed the the side roll was a crazy fluke!!!
The outting was a great way to stretch our mommy legs. We even managed a feeding in the middle of the outting. We just pulled over and I fed the baby in the backseat (first feeding without a bobby!) and continued on our way. It also help get rid of some of our baby blues with all that happened last week. It felt good to be out and part of the world. We needed to feel that excitement of having a baby, buying things we didn't realize we would need and showing her off. We felt like we've been missing those "normal" mommy experiences. We want those experiences back even if we can't get last week back.
It was a good day today.
