The day following my big 30 celebration found us at a lilac garden located in WA about 1/2 hour north of Portland. I had never been there, and had only just found out it existed when I was watching a gardening show the day before.
Katie appeased my desire to go look at the gardens despite needing to get 2 papers written before we leave for vacation on Wednesday.
It turned out to be a beautiful sunny day spent strolling amongst the lilacs and Victorian era farm.
I treated myself to an early birthday present of my very first lilac....a Dwarf lilac that thrives in pots. Its a late bloomer and I can't wait for it to show me its stuff. I just hope it survives my transplant of it from its peat pot to an actual clay one.
