New Years 2010

Katie and I rounded out 2009 with Chinese take-out food and a lively game of Wii bowling. It was a great way to spend New Years Eve for girls that honestly aren't really that into struggling to stay awake until midnight...we made it to 11:45pm this year and got to hear the fireworks set off by the neighbors.

We prefer to make the next day our celebration of 2010, so for that we headed up to Arlie's parents' cabin for a relaxing weekend of playing in the snow and hanging out with (mainly) new friends. Katie rented snowshoes so that she could try it for the first time. Sadly though, by the time we arrived the snow had stopped and instead it was raining like crazy.

We didn't let it deter us though from a fun day outside snowshoeing. Arlie decided to come along on our quest of heading to a higher elevation
in search of actual snow, and we eventually found it, though we had
to tromp through some icky rain and slushy snow to get there.

All in all it was a fun adventure and I think I'll even get my girl back out trying snowshoeing with me again real soon! YAY. :)
